DCW provide us with our on site recycling containers that we use when returning from a clearance. We carefully sort through our waste collection, rehoming anything possible with local charities or organisations. Anything that cannot be rehomed or reused, is placed in the recycling bins which then begin their journey with DCW. They collect from us, and transport it to their depot, where it is sorted through for recycling. Anything that cannot be recycled is processed by Energy from Waste plants, which convert solid waste into electricity or heat – an estimated average power generation of around 450 kWh per input tonne (in 2008 there were 3.28 millions of tonnes of municipal solid waste processed ~WtERT)
